MOJO STITCHES - TWO FROM TASMANIA

These two designs were originally created to celebrate a retreat in Hobart hosted by A Stitch in Time in 2022.  'Tasmania, After the Fires' celebrates the regrowth and rebirth of native endangered plants and animals after bushfires - I thought this was a perfect metaphor for all of us coming out after the pandemic.  I hope you enjoy stitching this rebirth and I wish much flourishing for you.

After stitching, I simply couldn't resist designing a piece around the enigmatic Tassie Tiger.  While officially extinct, sightings are reported all the time, and there are even official scientific efforts to bring it back.

'Tasmania, After the Fires' has a stitch count of 142w x 178h; 'Tasmanian Tiger' is 64w x 70h.  They use full crosses over two, long backstitches, Smyrna Crosses & French Knots.  In my models, I used 1 strand of floss over 2 threads of linen; 36-count 'Bush Tea' by JaysXStitch on Etsy was used for 'Tasmania, After the Fires' (framed it in a standard 8x10 inch frame); 36-count 'Flax' by Zweigart was used for 'Tasmanian Tiger'.

All threads in packs are the threads used in the Model Stitch.
